As a beginning farmer, it is very difficult to obtain financing to purchase land and to pick up new rented acres. I was fortunate enough to be able to secure three different rented farms. Through this program, I was able to provide each landlord with a tax break, making it more advantageous for them to rent to me. These three farms are the reason I am able to farm full time—not only as a job and career, but also as a lifestyle I hope to pass down for generations. This tax credit made it possible for landowners to choose me, helping me pursue my dream of being a full-time farmer.
