The Iowa Nuclear Energy Task Force advised on advancing nuclear energy in Iowa to strengthen the state’s energy portfolio, reliability and long-term growth.

On January 5, 2026, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed Executive Order 17 establishing the group, whose members represent utilities, power generation companies, local government, academia, the Iowa Utilities Commission and the General Assembly. 

The task force convened a series of facilitated meetings and submitted its final report to the governor. Read the governor's comments on the final report.
