The Iowa Nuclear Energy Task Force advises on advancing nuclear energy in Iowa to strengthen the state’s energy portfolio, reliability and long-term growth.

On January 5, 2026, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed Executive Order 17 establishing the group, whose members represent utilities, power generation companies, local government, academia, the Iowa Utilities Commission and the General Assembly.

The task force will convene a series of facilitated meetings and submit a final report to the governor in early July. Notices of meeting for the Nuclear Energy Task Force are posted on this page at least 24 hours before the start time of the meeting.
