I am a blind resident who has lived independently at Graceview Apartments for approximately six years. The security provided here has been a tremendous comfort to me, especially when answering the door, as it helps protect me from unwanted or potentially dangerous situations. The staff consistently encourages new activities and resident involvement. When I suggested hosting a sock hop, with me serving as the DJ, the staff not only endorsed the idea but also approved it and participated. The event turned out to be a great success, and this level of support is something you do not find in every affordable housing community.
The staff has also assisted me in overcoming challenges related to visual impairment by helping me secure a volunteer, Frank Brickey, supports me with tasks such as labeling clothing and pantry items so I can manage independently. Additionally, the staff provided training on how to use an electronic magnifier, enabling me to operate adaptive equipment without assistance. The friendships I have made at Graceview will always be cherished. This is more than an affordable apartment complex, it is a place I am proud to call home.
