David struggled with addiction after personal losses, which led to losing his job and home. In May 2024, he entered New Visions Homeless Services, where he received shelter and support through programs funded in part by the Iowa Finance Authority. While at New Visions, David worked in the kitchen and connected with caseworkers to secure housing. By November 2024, he moved into his own apartment. Today, David works full-time at New Visions doing laundry, maintaining his sobriety, and rebuilding his life with renewed stability and independence.
