DES MOINES — The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) Board of Directors today awarded a total of more than $6.4 million to support the development and rehabilitation of 42 housing units and supportive services for Iowans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Des Moines and Dubuque. The funding is made available through the Federal HOME-American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) program.
“Expanding housing options for Iowans overcoming homelessness and other challenges is an essential part of our mission,” said IFA Director Debi Durham. “These projects build on the good work local partners are already doing to help Iowans rebuild their lives. A safe place to call home and someone in your corner can make it possible to look ahead with hope, and we’re proud to support these efforts.”
"The award announced today will allow us to support more women and other community members who are courageously rebuilding their lives after homelessness, addiction, incarceration, domestic violence and other trauma," said Amy Landrigan, Chief Executive Officer of The Beacon.
Each new housing unit represents an opportunity for someone to heal, reclaim their independence and build the future they deserve.
The two projects receiving HOME-ARP awards include:
